Mozart Week

23 January - 2 February 2025
On and around Mozart’s birthday, Mozarteum Foundation Salzburg invites music lovers to wintry Salzburg. Join us for this musical celebration and experience classical music taken to a whole new level during this, the world’s leading Mozart festival!

A sparkling birthday party for Mozart

Salzburg is the world’s music capital, and not only during the summer festival. During Mozart Week, too, you immediately sense the unique flair of this city – especially in the concert halls. On and around 27 January, the City of Mozart honors Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart on his birthday with an internationally acclaimed concert series. Mozarteum Foundation Salzburg has hosted Mozart Week every year since 1956: a festival with a worldwide reputation, drawing the world’s best artists, and audiences that are every bit as international.

Programme 2025: Destination Mozart

After 5 years of "pure Mozart", Mozart Week 2024 entered a new era. In addition to Mozart, other great composers will be presented in the coming years, offering new perspectives on Mozart's life and work.

In 2025, the masters before Mozart's time will be presented: Monteverdi, Bach, Händel, Haydn and others were Mozart's models and inspirations. The programme includes Monteverdi's L'Orfeo in a production by Nikolaus Habjan, artistic puppetry with La finta giardiniera, orchestral and chamber concerts, as well as street dance, a pub quiz, silent film cinema with live music, guided tours, talks and much more.
